The Pathways Project |
Study OverviewIn this project, we are studying how different contemplative interventions affect visual attention and physiological responses to social and emotional information, and how these changes might relate to interpersonal dynamics in daily life. To measure these indicators in an ecologically-valid setting, we are employing cutting-edge mobile technologies that allow us to track participants’ gaze and record their physiological signals while they engage with a diverse naturalistic image set developed by our team. This study will help us understand the different cognitive, emotional, and self-regulatory pathways through which contemplative practice might influence people’s engagement and resilience in the face of emotional challenge, and how these changes might play out in real-world relationships.
